According to DHEC, students who test positive and/or are sent home for symptoms of COVID-19, or who report symptoms of COVID-19 and do not test, must remain out of school for a minimum of 5 days. They will be able to return on day 6 following the beginning of symptoms or from the day of the positive test. They must then wear a mask through day 10. They can also choose to return on day 11 without a mask.
Students who have been exposed to COVID-19 are encouraged, but not required, to wear a mask for 10 days from their exposure, but they are still able to attend school as long as they have no symptoms. Daily symptom monitoring should take place and any development of symptoms should be reported.
