Transfer Requests

The Transfer Request window is open January 15 - March 1, 2021 to receive consideration for district approved attendance transfers. The portal will close at 5 pm on March 1, 2021 and no other submissions will be accepted due to staffing decisions that have to be made for the upcoming school year. The link for the online application will open on January 15, 2021.

Please refer to Transfer Criteria page to determine if you meet conditions to request an attendance transfer. Only those students who meet the criteria will be considered by the committee for an approved attendance transfer.

Information for Parent/Guardians for Attendance Transfer Request 2021-2022

If your child is currently attending a Spartanburg District 2 school on an Approved Attendance Transfer, and is not in the last grade at current school, you do not have to submit another application for 2021-2022. The Conditions of Student Transfer Agreement still apply for the 2021-2022 School Year. If you do not wish to continue placement granted by the Approved Attendance Transfer, please contact the school’s Principal to inform them of the change.

Conditions of Student Transfer Agreement

If your child is currently in the last year at the school where he/she attends on an Attendance Area Transfer Waiver, you will need to submit a new application to be considered for a transfer to the next school. For example, if you are zoned for Boiling Springs Middle School but have been an approved attendance transfer at Chesnee Elementary, you will need to submit a new transfer request online if you wish to be considered for an attendance transfer to Chesnee Middle School instead of attending your zoned school of Boiling Springs Middle School.

If you missed the deadline and have extenuating circumstances, you can pick up a transfer request form at the District Office (3231 Old Furnace Road, Chesnee, SC 29323) during normal business hours. Those requests will not be reviewed until after registration is complete in July. You will be notified of the decision by mail before August 1st.

Child of School Employee

(THIS IS A SEPARATE APPLICATION FORM for NEW ENROLLMENTS ONLY. USE FACULTY REQUEST LINK)

The student is the child of a school employee and the request is to place the child in the school where the parent is employed or in the school with the appropriate grade level nearest the employee’s work location.

Out of District, FACULTY Transfers Only

All faculty living outside of D2 require a release letter from their home district annually. You must request a release from your current county’s school district. Those releases will be sent to the Office of Student Services. Once you receive an approved release letter from your current County’s school district office, you will give the school a copy for their records. You do not need to submit any other form or online application for Attendance Transfer. This release letter will be all that is needed to register your child if you are a faculty member in Spartanburg School District 2.

Online application is open for student transfer requests from January 15-March 1, 2021.  Committee will meet to review requests in March of 2021. Parents/Guardians will be notified on or before March 15, 2021. If denied, an appeal form will be attached to notification of decision and parents/guardians will have 7 days to submit an appeal.
