About District 2 Finance
The Finance Department provides support services to our schools and to district personnel so that our staff can focus on students first; the guiding principle behind Spartanburg Two's instructional, financial, and all other decisions. The Finance Department manages all fiscal affairs of the district including accounting, budgeting, purchasing, cash management, capital assets, and risk management. We prepare financial reports for District administration, for our community, and for the Board. We file state and federal grant reimbursement claims. The district's procurement code is in conformance with the state of South Carolina's procurement code for the purchase of all goods and services throughout the District. We pay payroll monthly for the District's 1200+ employees, and we process Accounts Payable checks on a weekly basis.
All accounting is in compliance with applicable State Department of Education regulations and state statutes. The District is audited annually by external auditors and periodically by State and Federal program auditors.
Management's Commitment to Safety
Safety training is a priority for Spartanburg School District Two. It's a key element in creating a positive school climate for our students and staff. Safety in our school district is every employee's responsibility at all levels.
